About

I’ve built a business from scratch. I know what the gap between where you are and where you want to be actually feels like.

I’m Darren Ball and based in Worcestershire.

In the early 2000s I co-founded a software business called Industrial Codebox; a connector platform that quietly became an internationally respected product with customers and resellers across 43 countries. We ran it as a lean, two-person operation for over a decade. In 2016 we sold it to Qlik, a Nasdaq-listed analytics company through a full M&A.

No investors. No debt. Just a clear head, the right systems, and a lot of discipline.

Before that I co-founded BlueEye Software, my first business, which taught me more about what not to do than any course ever could. I’ve also spent years working as a senior business analyst in complex, regulated organisations; helping teams cut through noise, understand what the numbers are actually saying, and make better decisions with the information they already have.

I work with a small number of local business owners at any one time. Worcestershire and Herefordshire first, the chamber community I’m part of, and selectively beyond that.

I’m not a coach with a framework to sell you. I’m someone who has built, sold, struggled, learned and who is genuinely useful when a business owner needs to think more clearly about where they are and what to do next.
